Hunting Tabriz ‘Benlian’

Benlian was a British-Armenian firm enstabilished in Tabriz in the early 1900s opening a workshop. The company specialized in high quality Persian carpets and their drawings were inspired by early Safavid carpets and its symbol is the famous ‘Benlian Star’, usually placed at the top right corner. The rugs, were woven by great Tabrizi Masters such as Jabbarzadeh, Ghanadi, Alabaf etc…

This ‘Hunting’ Tabriz was knotted in a Benlian workshop in the 20s with an ivory field and a soft pink border. The carpet is in perfect condition.
