Art Deco ‘OCM’ Tabriz
Description
A quite rare and unique Art Deco Tabriz carpet knotted in the 30s in the workshop of the British ‘Oriental Carpet Manufacturers Company’, a company that established in Iran in the early 1900s. The Oriental Carpet Manufacturers Company was established by a group of British merchants at the end of 1907/beginning of 1908 in Smyrna (Turkey). In 1911, OCM expanded their activities to Iran.
This signed (bottom right corner) stunner features an empty pistiachio green field surrounded by a light border adorned by flowers and inscriptions in cartouches. The piece is in perfect condition, full pile.
