Knotted in Northwestern Persia, this late 19th century Heriz carpet comes in a rare and HUGE, stretched format, filling the eye with its deep, vegetable-dyes and a stunningly intense red field. The colors have aged beautifully—rich blues, soft ivories, and touches of green play against the red with striking clarity. The design is bold yet fluid, with large central motifs balanced by a fine scattering of floral and leafy detail. The wide border frames the whole piece in a rhythm of blossoms, adding to its sense of movement and depth. In excellent condition, full pile.
