‘Darjazin’ Hamadan

Description

This charming piece was woven in Hamadan ( Darjazin ) over 100 years ago. Knotted in a room size, the carpet shows an elegant ivory field adorned with a central blue hexagonal medallion surrounded by colorful stylized floral motifs. One of the most striking features of the piece is definitely the border, quite unusual, decorated by ‘Botteh’ figures places all over. The carpet is in overall very good condition for its age.
