Bakhshayesh SOLD

Description

This rare piece in an unusual format was knotted in the village Bakhshayesh (Heriz Area) in Northwestern Persia in the late 19th century. The vibrant red field shows stylized floral motifs with leaves, blossoms, palmettes and trees. The stunning sky blue border surrounding the field has been densely adorned by arabesque palmettes, rosettes and sickle leaves  linked by a vine. The piece is in excellent condition for its age.
