Miniature ‘Four Seasons’ Tabriz
Description
Petit Masterpiece.
How cool is this little Four Seasons Tabriz? Finely woven in the 1930s, it features an intricate composition divided into the four seasons, with a sun-shaped medallion at the centre depicting the Persian poet Baba Taher. Around him are twelve zodiac symbols, along with finely drawn references to Persian historical figures and places, each identified by name. Despite its small size, the carpet is packed with detail and symbolism — a tiny Tabriz that tells a whole story of Persian culture and history.
