Hereke Silk
Description
Hereke silk carpets, were finely knotted in Imperial workshops from the first quarter of the 20th century. This absolute masterpiece features a rare saffron border enriched by palmettes, floral branches and calligraphies in cartouches. The ivory field is filled with a Safavid-inspired design, with large saffron-yellow flowers, leaves and palmettes masterfully drawn. Perfect condition.
