Description

Almost 150 years old and still centuries of life left in it. This sublime village carpet knotted in the Area of Melas, Anatolia, is featured by an outrageous color palette with a deep red/burgundy enclosing spandrels and a large medallion with hooked outlines. The medallion encloses a signature and the date ‘1290’ (1872) and the brown/aubergine featuring the medallion and the border are oxidized creating a carved effect. In excellent condition for it age.
