Early Gordes Prayer Rug
Description
A rare and early Gördes prayer rug. The piece was finely knotted in the early 1800s. In the main border, flowering trees have been placed on an ivory ground. The pale green field is adorned by an elegant Mihrab with all-over small blossoms drawn above it, on a night blue ground. The piece is in excellent condition for its age.
