Bidjar ‘Lions’


An extremely attractive Kurdish Bidjar/Bijar carpet woven about 100 years ago and featuring an Herati, or Mahi, pattern on a deep red/brown field enriched by a stunning medallion in the field adorned by a naturalistic design with a river, trees, flowers, deers, birds and lions. Fabuolous spandrels completing the field. The piece is in overall very good condition for its age.
