Haj Abolghasem Javan Amirkhiz
The Javan Workshop
In 1922 (1301 SH), Haj Abolghasem Javan Amirkhiz and his brother,( Haj Ahmad) Javan, established their workshop with just three carpet looms. Through years of dedication and hard work, this modest beginning grew into one of Tabriz’s largest centralized carpet production facilities.
The international reputation of antique Javan Amirkhiz carpets was also shaped by his collaboration with Edward Benlian, an Armenian merchant based in London, whose activities between 1900 and 1930 helped bring these carpets to a wider international market.
