Large Qazvin

Description

Unlike cities as Kashan, Tabriz, Isfahan or Kerman, the carpet production of the city of  Qazvin- Gazvin was quite limited in the ‘Persian Carpet Golden Age’ (1875 – 1925).

This antique Qazvin rug showcases a stunningly rich floral design, full of intricate blossoms, curling vines, and flowing arabesques. In each of the four corners, there’s a large, beautifully detailed vase overflowing with stylized flowers, giving the piece a sense of balance and elegance. The deep blue background highlights the warm, earthy tones of the natural vegetable dyes—soft reds, indigo, ivory, greens, and touches of gold.
