Kerman Signed ‘Ghazan’

Description

This extrordinary Kerman was woven in the workshop of ‘Ghazan’ company, elite carpet makers active in the late 19th century in many cities of Iran and famous for the high quality of their rugs, finely knotted with soft and shiny kurk lamb’s wool. This oversized specimen features a stunningly drawn red medallion laying on a deep night blue field, enriched with floral motifs and the ‘Ghazan’ inscriptions in cartouches. The carpet is in very good condition for its age.
